Well im not sure exactly what Cat goes by when choosing a mod but over at Virtual Doctor where I administrate I go by how knowledgeable a member is, how helpful he has been to other members, someone who treats others with respect & is respected by the other members. I also ask the other moderators in the private mod forum what they think of a certain person that im considering for a position. If all these things come together than that person is the one who is usually chosen. BJ

In my forum, a person became a mod because he beat me in basketball. the game we decided to play for it was the tenth game, i had previously beat him 9 times in a row.

i think he was putting me on.

Are there any age requirements? No offense to the younger members here, but I think under 18 seems a little young to moderate.

I think what BJ has posted is also what we look for here. We won't always pick the absolutely most knowledgeable person if that person hasn't been shown to be helpful, or is continually being warned for flaming.

We have now, and have had in the past several members that were very knowledgeable, but just lacked the social/interpersonal skills necessary to be considered for modship.
