Question -Which SCSI cable for this external CD-Writer?

I have an external HP 9600se CD-Writer (SCSI-2) but am not sure which cable I need. Am I correct in saying any of these three will work?

So do I need a male DB50 connector on each?

    Thanks

that appears correct; as long as your cd writer can accept a 50-pin male connector, and your scsi card can accept a 50-pin male connector, it looks like it'll work.

That's what I was hoping to find out here. Whether or not the (check out the link above) drive supports the connection.

Am I correct in saying the male connector is the one with the 50-pins on it? Is any of the above three ok?

    Thanks

Well, we know at least one end of those cables are correct -- they'll fit the drive just fine. But the other end of the cable may need to be different depending on what kind of SCSI card you have.

Thanks SkyDog - that's what I was most worried about.

Isn't there usually a standard cable port for SCSI-2 (fast) cards?

I've already ordered the cable so I'll found out soon. Thanks

There are a few different standards. Most of them use Mini DB-50 connectors like the cable you ordered, but some use 50-pin Centronics connectors, and a few use DB-25.
