I Beat Max Payne 2
Took me a little less than 12 hours, but could have done it sooner had I not stopped to eat and stuff.
Have to say right off the top the first one had a much stronger story line. It was all Max on a take no prisoner mission. This one added too much romance, but still very strong and worth while. I really loved depth of story with Max and the girl (Mona Sax) as the story unfolds, but it was sad to see the ending (I'll leave it up to you to see what happens).
Overall, the graphics were outstanding and during bullet time if you run out of clip, he'll do a John Woo style spin and change the magazine in one fell swoop, really really beautifully done.
Great game, worth every penny.

Sounds good, I'm starting chapter 2 and if I didn't have to be at work tonight (doh!) I'd probably be beating it too

lol geez, why not just wait till it goes in the bargain bin if you're gonna beat it that fast. Doesnt that make you not want to play your newly aquired game since you're already completed with it?

I just beat it as well. I was really hoping there was more to it, kept hoping that that last little "comic strip" wasn't the end It's a damn shame such a great game had to be so short, but better than a bad game being too long I guess .

from a graphics point of view, how would you compare it to Splinter Cell? Also is it more heavy on requirements than splinter cell was?

Well, MP2 runs much smoother than Splinter Cell ever did...But I think that had to do with how Splinter Cell was ported.
I'd say graphics are comparable between them - with a slight edge to MP2 due to the DX9 effects. For some reason though, Im not all that impressed with it (yet). I guess because the first game was so good.

so Max Payne is a full fledged DX9 game like HL2 and Doom3 with all the bells and whistles?

I don't feel finishing it cheapened the value of the game one bit; besides that I simply couldn't stop. The story and magnificient gameplay kept me glued, much like MP1 did. Though I'm quite sadden by the ending, for those who have finished themselves also know. Calling it Fall of Max Payne is a bit misleading, but I hope they make another sequel or prequel to this awesome franchise, perhaps bring us back to the period when his wife/kid were still alive. Frankly, I hope people embrace this game enough to convince Rockstar/Remedy to make another because in my mind, it's one of the best game franchise ever made - which subequently lead to talks about making a film on it; now how many games have that honor?
Finally, after playing this game I have developed an unhealthy obsession towards Courtney Cox.

BEST-GAME-EVER-THIS-YEAR
Short and sweet. Every minute of it was great. Turning games into full story driven action movies is the best. All the plot twists and turns...beautiful. I cant wait till the matrix mod guy ports his mod to max payne 2.
I dont no why but after I finished I had a urge to play spinter cell again...Wierd...

People please stop talking about it. The European release date is still a couple of days, and the more I read about it, the more excited I get.
