Mouse light on when comp is off???
Just put together a new comp using a Gigabyte 8IK1100.
Comp runs ok but my intellimouse explorer light stays on after I turn the comp off.
Any idea why this is?

Just switch on then off the PSU. Mine used to do this, and my LED mousepad does too. I think it's because there is still power going to them.
The PSU trick worked for me though

I disconnected the power and the light went off. My guess is a capacitor with residue in it.

Its probably something like that.
Just remember with the power off your battery will run down much faster.

Im unsure about that board, but he Abit NF7-S does it too. They called it Duel 5V power er somethin. So the usb and kybd are powered even when shut down, mainly so u can use a usb kybd with a power button to power up the system. There are jumpers, although they are undocumented as far as i know. that allow u to disable this feture on the nf7-s.
U might wanna check the faqs or forums from the manufactuer or check the manual for jumper listings...see if u can disable it.

It is probabably BIOS related, check if there is a new BIOS available and flash you're mobo.
Otherwise you will have to wait until they come up with a new BIOS that fixes the problem.
I had the same thing with my keyboard LED and only a new BIOS fixed it.

i've had this problem on several motherboards that i've used. it sometimes is BIOS related, if you don't have the latest BIOS for the board you might want to try it.

its not a problem... its because power is still running through the mobo and USB ports when the comp is switched off.. some BIOSes disable it though
