just found out my trinitron is refurbished

Sun GDM5010 Sony Flat Screen Monitor

-i have yet to use it [dont feel like going back home from my apartment]
but after reinspecting the description i noticed it says "refurbished"

so what are the real cons of getting a refurbished monitor?
    thanks

    Cons?

    1. Pay less, and can't feel as good about how much money you throw at things.
    2. It might show some age...

but I bet you still have a warrenty and if its guarrenteed for a while then I wouldn't worry. I am running a refurbished 21 Mitsubishi Crt and I have no problems. I love it...

I've bought 3 monitors and only the first was new. I haven't been disappointed by the others. Currently I'm running a 21" Viewsonic that I picked up at a computer show for $175.

There is always a risk. But if you can buy a monitor for half what it would cost new, then you can handle quite a bit of risk of failure. Especially if it comes with a 1 year warranty.

How is paying "less" a con? I've had three refurb monitors (all sony's) and have yet to have one die. In fact they've lasted longer then some offbrand new ones.

I believe he was using a little sarcasm.
