Clock speed confusion - is this right?
different sites/different manufacturers have different speeds for the fx series and i cant seem to find the info from nvidias site, all they have is ramdac and memory bandwidth no speeds.
5200
250mhz core / 200mhz memory (400ddr)
5200 ultra
325mhz core / 325mhz memory (650ddr)
5600
325mhz core / 250mhz memory (500ddr)
5600 ultra
400mhz core / 400mhz memory (800ddr)
5700 ultra
475mhz core / 450mhz memory (900mhzddr)
5800 ultra
500mhz core / 500mhz memory (1ghzddr)
5900
400mhz core / 425mhz memory (850ddr)
5900 ultra
450mhz core / 425mhz memory (850ddr)
5950 ultra
475mhz core / 475mhz memory (950mhzddr)
so from this is it safe to say in terms of an fx card the best bang/buck is the 5700 ultra even though it only has a 128bit bus?

I would say, the 5700U is looking to be the best bang for the buck, Nvidia video card at the moment. Do you want to consider a ATI video card.

if i had a choice its ati all the way right now, but i sent my ti4200 in for RMA with MSI and i wanted to see what i can strong arm them for, id have to say fix my 4200 and send it back or throw me a 5700, anything less than the 5700 and the ti4200 is either on par or taking it over. forget dx9.

I would not settle for anything less then the 5600U with the flip chip or above. Edit to add:I don`t even know if MSI came out with one with the flip chip so go far the 5700U.
