Codec pack remover

I have winxppro and installed a codec pack to play my latest divx movies.Ths codec pack however instead of helping caused a serious problem to my computer.Each time try to run a divx movie it appears an error that explorer stopped responding and windows restarts.What are my options?Note that system restore is disabled

just unistall all the divx, xvid 3ivx etc.... codecs from add/remove programs. then install ffdshow - its the best mpeg4 decoder I have ever used. handles divx 3/4/5 xvid, 3ivx, mp4 everything! and with great post-processing.

if you are doing encoding also install divx 5.1 and xvid's latest stable build.

that should clear up any and all problems

if not, try switching players - maybe use DivX player. It seems to play all the wierd formats I throw at it *avi, ogm, matroska, if its mpeg4 video it can play it!
