I don't think they are getting old. It might seem so because the only games that come out are situated during the second world war. Maybe some other ones in other places in history, but history itself has had so many moments and things happening. We just haven't seen any games throughout different stages of history. And that's why I don't think it will ever get old. Of course just as other people mentioned, sci-fi can have much wider possibilities, but still historicly based games are very good in my opinion.

WWII games are fine, but right now most all of the FPS games coming are war based and the bulk of them in WWII. They are all starting to blend together so badly that you can't tell one from the other.

The developers are trying to milk it for all it's got with different campaigns and new objectives, etc. but overall my interest has waned. How long ago was the first CoD released? When it did I thought it was next best thing since sliced bread but for some reason only days away it's turned into a luck laster title. I'll probably play it though as no other games that are really worthy are out. There's only so many times you can play through Max Payne.

Men of Valor: Vietnam seems like a refreshing idea, however. Why? Because I'm fond of gratiutious profanity in video games. Any game with profane language is almost a guaranteed hit in my books

I just installed Hidden and Dangerous 2 last night, granted I'm still on the first mission, but so far it seems like a great game. I personally think that the WWII genre makes for a great batch of games (H&D2 seems to be standing out from the pack though so far). I prefer playing something that actually took place, whether it be completely historically accurate or not, as opposed to playing some spacey futuristic game. Almost all of the WWII games that have come out have been some very great games; MOHAA and it's expansions, Battlefield 1942, H&D2, RtCW, CoD soon.

So as far as I'm concerned, keep em comming, as they make for some great games. I'd still like to see a few more games on Vietnam though.

Grew tired of it after Medal of Honor hit the shelves. After that, it was just the same thing over and over again. I'm tired of killing Nazis :/

Yes its getting way to old. They find a good genre and wear it out just like radio stations kill a good song and much of the CD by repeating it 15x a day. I personally love the WWII genre and always will (history buff) but I mean this is getting ridiculous when there are 10 WWII titles coming out a year. This is like Star Wars or Star Trek, it ends up not selling.

They seriously need to quit making WWII games in 2004/05 and maybe not even think of it until 2006.

I am stuck on Return To Castle Wolfenstein and Medal of Honor still with all there expansions and freebies. I have yet to dig into BF1942, I only have so much time and so many hands and eyes before I blow out my blood vessels and give myself arthritis.

unfortunately that would be worse than rehashing an old game (Australia is dead boring... although you could make a game like attack of the Tree Kangaroo's or something :P)

i believe the WW2 genre is getting to the point where there is not much that can be done anymore. I hope that HL2, Deus Ex 2 and D3 will put an end to the fascination with the WW2 FPS games that have been coming out recently.
