Yeah, that is alot, especially when converted to Canadian dollars, but I'm sure they're worth it.
Keep going up, Canadian dollar.

Are they gonna offer the Klipsch warranty though? It's worthless to buy them from newegg if you only have the 90 day or so coverage

From what I heard last, Amy at klipsch said they were authorized dealers.

Well that's good to hear!
I'd almost rather get mine from Best Buy though, since I won't have to worry about the speakers getting damaged from shipping, as well as if anything goes wrong, I won't have to ship them back.

i assume at the price they're selling it for now, it's authorized too. i'm referring to newegg.

Call me a penny pincher, but if I buy them from newegg I save myself on tax Although bestbuy does also offer them online with free shipping (which makes them only $10 more). Now if you can also (for any reason) decide to exchange them at the store (whether deffective, r refund) Then that would make purchasing them at bestbuy somewhat golden.

Just to comment on the price, I went to best buy here in ottawa canada and they have the original pm5.1s no ultras yet. With a pricetag of $699. They also have them hooked up wrong and they sound terrible even compared to the promedia 2.1s.. Which I find rather funny. I had to put the sub volume to +15 to get MINIMAL bass. they also had the sats hooked up out of phase. Brilliant minds at work there..
Anyway for $699 canadian I must say thats too much.
I payed $630 for mine almost 2 years ago, and now they went up in price? that makes no sense Sure its great for resale value, but not for attracting customers when the Z560s although they sound much worse in comparison can be had for $250 if you shop around, that puts them at less than half the price of the klipsch 5.1s. I did a conversino from us currency and it didnt even come to $600 canadian dollars from the $399 USD.
While IMO for the quality you get $699 is still worth it, but it should be a little less expensive... they are makeing a mint on these or they are charging a shitload of taxes to bring them in..

someone remind me...what was the ungodly cheap price that they were at??

Yeah, over here in Vancouver the regular 5.1's have ALWAYS been $699 Canadian. That's why it's better to buy them across the border and "sneak" them in.

If you are referring to the Ultra's, newegg had them for $365 shipped.
