    this is what i was told to do from another forum:

    You should've done a search because this horse has already been beaten down. It's the radeon. Try unplugging the aux power connnector then hit the system power button. As it begins to post then reconnect the aux power cord and it will boot. The radeon is the culprit. Also what ps are you using? I had to dump my antec 550w unit's, I tried a tc and tp, for the enermax in my sig and my boot problem went away.

    does this sound safe to do?

    Sounds risky to me, I would wait until you get your new power supply, I would never hookup mine that way.
