    yay 9800 pro!

oh well, ya know im not benchmark crzy but i went from 1160 3dmark03 to 5666 with the new card...way better, but i think it could prolly do better what do u think?
and it seems to do fine wuth the drivers it came with, ( cat 8.4 i think?)
should i still get the omega drivers or no? and if i do, do i need to uninstall the ati drivers?
will it overclock good on hsf that it came with or should i just leave well enuff alone?

I think you can hope for anywhere between 30 - 50 MHz on the core from stock with stock cooling, the memory results vary a lot more for people. Some actually get quite a bit more out of the core though.

As far as drivers, I never have bothered with the Omega's, but I would suggest you go to CAT 3.7's until the 3.9's are released. I'm running the 3.8's with no problems, but several people have encountered various problems with those.

Let us know how it goes.

I wouldn't overclock the card unless you're a benchmark freak - it handles any game well right now. Upgrade the cooling and you coudl overclock more safely...

Glad to hear it's been a trouble free install. As for the driver, I'd wait for the Cat 3.9, due out soon. Why not give 3DMark2001 a spin? Most 9800Pro can go way pass 400mhz core quite easily, even with stock cooling. My PowerColor, not a good OCer, can manage 435mhz core with stock cooling.

PS : I'd suggest that you leave it at stock speed as it's crazy fast enough as it is.

Increase your Mhz and FSB speed, OC the card that's the biggest key for 03and perhaps you could nail 6K. There are about four opinions on which set of Cat's or Omega will give the highest score. Truly the only way to know for sure on your rig is to test individually.

6k is easy with a 9800 pro, just an average oc will get that for you. i just can't seem to get past 18,500. it has to be due to the fact that i can't get past 198 fsb.
