    Question

On my Gigabyte mobo I have a 4 pin powerconnector next to the AGP slot. What is this for?

I think AGP pro cards but I am unsure?

Check your MB manual, it might be that your MB uses that for the 12v power connector, like the P4 MB`s do.

I have a GA-8IK1100 great board and I finally found the book,

It says "AGP 12 Volt, you can connect AGP card power to this connector"

    1.Do AGP cards run on 12V ?

2.If so then you dont need an extra out from your PSU but stick it directly in the Mobo.

well, that board is AGP pro so i'd imagine the connector has something to do with that. i don't know workstation graphics cards, but perhaps some of them use the 12v connector for additional graphics power like some desktop cards use a standard molex for additional power now...

Well, I looked at your board on their website and it says that it is AGP Pro, so, I would say that AGP 12 volt connector on your MB is not for a regular graphics card but like thebove says a workstation graphics card so I wouldn`t plug a regular video card up to it, no telling what might happen.
