FX 5900 question
After some reading I found out there are three different types
1.fx 5900 value
2 fx 5900
3 fx 5900 ultra.
How do I find out the difference between 1 and 2

How much will this decrease performance?
Is the value version a better card then lets say 9600 pro?
And my v5500 is still going strong(but slow

I've yet to see this 5900 "value" card.

Guru3d just reviewed a weird Creative Labs 5900 that has only 700 mhz memory. http://www.guru3d.com/article/Videocards/92/ so this must be the so-called "value" edition.

If it's only that the RAM is 700(350)MHz, it should be noticibly faster than the 9600 Pro. If it can be found at ~$200 that's kick *** GREAT price/performance.

Doing a quick pricecheck on the 5700u vs the 5900 yields a very small ~20 price difference between the two. Yet the 5900 is always faster than the 5700u.

Well it does appear that if the 5900 keeps coming down in price that it will be the midrange card of choice for nvidia fans. The flip side is that if it does keep coming down in price one of two things will happen: )Keep dropping the price of the 5700U (woohoo); or 2)Nvidia will discontinue the 5900 as it does not want it to compete with the 5700u thus creating a price war w/ it's own cards and replace it w/ the crummier 5900se/lite/mx whatever. This second scenario is probably the most prevalent as was seen w/ nvidia dropping the popular 9500pro in favor of the lesser performing 9600pro in order to keep the price/performance difference w/in their card lineup.
