Do Bestbuy, Compusa, Circuit City, etc still sell AMD duron?

Tomorrow my parents are making a quick trip to the US. I`m in search of any socket 462 cheap cpu, that is why I`m interested on a duron. If I had knew they were going, I would have ordered from newegg.

This duron will be for my mothers new computer (for office purposes), it`ll be using sdram that is why I only need the cheapest duron

I don't think they do...hasn't the duron been discontinued? abyways you could probably buy a low end athlon xp which usually works fine in most motherboards...

I could buy cheap athlon XP, but I want to keep it as cheap as possible, reason: my mom wants a 15" LCD, any cheap one will do. Her desk is always filled with paper work

PC Club sells duron processors. (They just opened a store here and they have them.) Hopefully they can find a location where they are going.

Well, compusa does or if he can find a microcenter...problem is your likely to pay double what you would pay online.
Thank you sir. May I have another?

If you can Newegg has the 1.6Ghz for half of what you'd pay at a retail joint.

edit: $42 To be exact.... DOH didn't realize you were in Mexico....

richardginn: pickup? Like Bestbuy pickup? Order online and then pickup at your nearest retail store

Unfortunately the only thing in McAllen is going to be a CompUSA, Best Buy, and the usual office stores (Staples, OM,OD)

I don't quite remember what they had the last time I was there (CompUSA). I'm sure they had several Athlon XP's but I rather doubt that there were any Durons at that store. Sorry man, I think thats probably your only shot in McAllen though.
