So what sound card did you get a nice new A2?
True, by x-mas time the 9800 Pro may be down to what I paid for this one, but I just could justify that chance, so I did it.

No, I'm actually not that impressed with the Creative cards any more. Their drivers are buggy, and I always had hissing problems with them. I got a Hercules Fortissimo III. Sounds great and the hissing I had with the CL card is gone too.

    Well that is cool

I have to admit I am nothing but a Creative Labs nut.. I never owned a different sound card (other then onboard) other then a SB...

I never had a hissing problem nor a buggy driver problem with it.

I have heard a lot of good things about the Fortissimo III so its all good

You know with an upgraded sound card and video card.. A new monitor and speakers are nice too

My monitor isn't that old (few months) and while I would like some nice speakers, I don't ever use the ones I have now (cheapos) because I always end up having to use the headset.

I'm a Creative Lab nut myself, I did dabble with the Philips Seismic Edge card for awhile but decided that it wasn't up to my expectations - couldn't enable EAX in alot of games (the box did look good though ) See sig, I've upgrade my sound card to the new Audigy2 ZS and Logitech Z-640 - also got a Logitech multi-media KB and MX310 mouse. The A2 ZS is excellent! The Z-640 was the best investment I've made so far - it's cheap and sound so damn good! CL all the way for me as of now.
