That is odd, since SETI runs just fine with HT.. It processes two WU's at a time with HT...

My Task Manager shows both CPUs at 50% usually when folding, but when I do something else 1 of the CPU rates goes up.
Is this normal?

Mine does the same and my rig runs fine. So I guess it's normal.

something to watch out for
are any of you guys getting stuck with the "3DNow boost" function in windows? it seems to slow down times by quite a lot.
the folding on my linux machine seemed to be going slower than usual, so i just checked and i noticed that my usual 8-9 min per step was up to about 13 minutes. i looked to see if i had drawn a gromacs or a tinker dog -- it was a gromacs, but then i noticed it said "Extra 3DNow Boost" at the beginning instead of SSE. i killed the client, restarted, and this time SSE got enabled for the same work unit with times back to 8-9 min. per step.
i used the -forceasm and -advmethods command line, and what's more, SSE was enabled on the one that finished while i was sleeping, but not the one that was automatically downloaded and started next. so i don't know yet why sometimes one boost gets enabled and sometimes the other, or how to ensure it'll always be SSE and NOT 3DNow. the log on my windows rig says SSE for all of them, but it might be something to check in your log files. if you are doing one and it says 3DNow, kill it and restart the folding program until you get the SSE optimization.

I had that problem, when I was running the 3.24 client with advmethods and forceasm, instead of the 3.25 beta, but other then that I don`t know what would cause it.

serotone9 try deleting any FaH-Core's which might be in your Folding@Home Folder as well if you still have this problem

d@mn it happened twice in a row, even with deleting the core. i'm going back to the 4.0 beta. it kept crashing the last time i tried it, but it also has a -forceSSE option that i wasn't using. maybe that + a new core will work.

Well, to get up to speed here on what happened to me, I paused my WU and I installed the new Omega 3.9`s, when it restarted and started to work again, it started working at 0/2500, whereas I was at 1650/2500 when I paused it. So I desided to do a fresh format of my hard drive and I did, and went to bed and woke to find out my computer had froze while I was sleeping, so I restared it and lost what work I had done also on another work unit(210/500). Don`t know what caused my computer to freeze last night but I`m going to lower my overclock on it and try again.

Well, I`ve got it running at 2.325ghz(12.5x185) for now and soon I will have my 1600+ computer up and folding too. BTW, the error I was getting was checksums don`t match starting from original work package.
