fedex in my neck of the woods blows.... their guys either show up and don't ring the door bell, or they don't show up at all and claim they did. i hate that friggin company. i mistrust them so much that whenever i have to ship with them i tell them not to attempt delivery I would rather pick it up myself, despite the fedex office being way out in the boonies... lousy, lazy, incompetent, SOBS!! they are... damn them.

edit: oh yeah and UPS blows here too, but at least they are willing to fix the problems they make, like two months ago when the UPS guy went to the wrong place, they at least sent him back to deliver the package after his route was over.. will fedex do that when their guys f's up... hahaha NO! they just give you attitude at the local offfice and tell you there is nothing they can do and you must wait another day, when what you paid for was overnight shipping and you don't get it cause their delivery guys is either to lazy or too stupid to find where you live... as if they haven't been to my house 10 times before without a hitch... though the majority of the time they never rign the door bell or make so much as a light hearted effort to alert you to their presence.

USPS sucks here too, I am lucky if I ever get all my mail... still waiting for last weeks Rolling Stone.

As for Airborne, well I have no personal experience, but my friend ordered a $500 camera, that ended up being stolen by the guy who was suppossed to delivery it.

Overall i can't report any good experience with any shipper, but for me Fedex takes the cake... or maybe just my office. there are some nights when in my dreams i can see their office burning... and I am holding the match...

After that statement it makes a guy want to insure all his packaging.... Some crazy nut burning an office where your packages are....
I feel you though. Here in DC, I have zero trust for FedEx. So, I prefer UPS. At home, NYC, UPS and FedEx are great. Fedex is better though.

lol... well i think you are safe, but those in the greater Huntington, Wv area better watch out.... i just think i have a particularly bad office here, which is to be expected living where i live. i have complained numerous times about them to the main office but they just tell me that will send a message to the manager at my local office and he will get in contact with me... which never happens... as he/she is probably as inept as their workers... at least they have never losted or damaged a package... though after the last flare up i had with them i wouldn't be surprised if my package disappeared or some how fell out of the truck...

FedEx is awesome in my area. I guess it just depends on where you live.

UPS Sonic Air is the BEST. They actually deliver your package before you order it.

I have a few tips I've learned over the years with online purchases.
    1. Never Use Companies like UPS or FedEx unless you live in an urban area (not to large of one mind you). The best service I have received always was when I lived in a community of about 50-100k people. Larger than that and they don't know where they are going and will just steal small deliveries, smaller than that and they get lost and the locals steal small deliveries from the truck when he abandons it.
    2. Always if you can schedule your items to be shipped to your work if you work for a larger business/corp and the items not to large, most delivery guys won't steal from larger corporations out of fear. If you have a large item or don't have a secure address to mail it to, schedule to pick it up at the delivery companies local office instead of having it delivered to your house. If it arrives but never leaves that building its going to be hard for them to explain why it was stolen by their people.
    3. If it is availble in your area and through the people you are purchasing from, always spend the money on airborne express. Having things overnighted it not only convienent, but very safe since their is less time the delivery is spent out of the seller or your hands.
    4. Accounts via one delivery company will often result in better service and over time some cheaper rates for your RMAs.
    5. If it is at all possible, just pickup your item from the company itself. Being near companies like Directron and such is always a blessing you should exploit.
    6. Airborne Express, USPS Air, FedEx 2nd Day, FedEx Week (Shipper Saver/3 day), UPS (only their ground shipping on heavy heavy items).

Man Fedex here kicks some serious ***. The packages have 0 dents, scratches, etc. They devliver it in 2 days EVERY TIME. Ive given UPS 3 chances, and each time they failed, especially the last time i tried them. When i ordered my radeon 9700 and athlon 2700+ couple months ago (When they were the best of the best) And it took ups NO JOKE, i am not lying but it took them 4 weeks and 3 days to deliver to me. I nearly had a heart attack i was so pissed. And i wined to them and all they said was " We're sorry for your inconvenience, but next time u get ground shipping, its 10 dollars off!" I just hung up and tried fed ex, and they never let me down. Fast as hell, and if they leave the package on my door with no sig, i have no worries because they will either hide it, and if they don't well i live in a gated community where everyone is about 60 years old, so trying to pick up a package they will probably throw their backs out, or break a hip. So guess its true, it all depends on location.

LoL KeyKenny, what did you do? GO to a mirror store and break them all? That's like them shipping from Cali to NYC, but once it gets to NYC accidentally shipping it to cali, then back to NYC, then back to cali all by accident.
Hmm, maybe you through a rock at a mirror on a UPS truck 6yrs ago? 1 more year to go...

Keykenny I'm with you. Everytime I use FedEx they do an awesome job. I'm never home to sign, so they always leave the package around the back of my house under the deck. One time it was raining, and I found my box covered in a tarp we had laying around back. The FedEx guy covered it for me! Talk about service...
