    this got me thinking

don't get me wrong, I do like the I-pod a lot but it is flawed in quite a big way with the battery (guess beauty does come at a price ) being hard to change. It does run for hours but lets say hmm in 2 years it might be a different story and what then? 10 Gigs worth of music down the drain or an expensive replacement from Apple. The Zen allows you to change which in the long term might make it the better option and it does not look that bad either, even though nobody touches the pod's design, that always was one of it's strong points.

BTW we have an I pod, so I have reason to be worried. I know rechargeable batts only too well

I agree that the battery in the one major flaw. Not that I care about the life in 2 years, but rather there are times when it would be nice to change the batteries. For example, I have a trip to Hawaii coming up which is 16 hours each way. The batteries will only last halfway and will not charge fully during the layover.

I do figure that in 2 years, a better iPod will be out and I upgrade at that time.

Are there any FM radio attachments out there for the iPods? Not the transmitters to a station but an attachment that lets you receive FM stations.

i think belkin has an attachment that lets you run the ipod of AAA batteries. the last for like 15 hours i think and you can replace them.

Here's Belkin's list of accessories for the iPod. They have the portable battery charger and the mobile casette adapter. Looks good to me.

Personally I would buy the FM tuner instead of the casette adapter... seems a bit more practical and it probably sounds better too.

i've got a sony tape adapter and it works pretty well. the sound isn't fantastic, but it's decent, and my experience with the fm one is that it doesn't work any better.

it's kind of a tossup. if you have a tape player, might as well get the adapter b/c then you don't fight with solar flares.

i have the iTrip and it works perfectly (mind you, you have to position it properly within your car, but once you get that sorted out, its awsome)

    just noticed this http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProdu...uct_Id=148969#

looks really sweet....but then you cant use the case or put it in your pocket cause it looks fairly thick
