Hammerhead Shark
Anyone looking forward to Soldner?
http://soldner.jowood.com/
It's like a mix of BF1942 and Operation Flashpoint but with deformable terrain and buildings. From the website...
Key features that make Soldner unique include:
* A fully-destructible environment where players can destroy everything they see
* Over 60 personal weapons, including the Desert Eagle, M4 Carbine, and AK 47
* Over 70 vehicles, helicopters, and jets -- including the BJ212A Jeep, Humvee, T-80 tank, Ka-50 "Black Shark" helicopter, and F/A-18C Hornet fighter plane
* Dynamically-generated world using digital satellite data featuring a day/night cycle and changing weather and seasons
* Five high-tech specializations that include fully customizable characters
* Each team is led by an elected commander who uses realistic satellite data to give laser guidance to the team
* 32 players per game battle online over Internet and LAN
* Includes well-known combat modes such as Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag and Hostage Rescue. Players can also mod their own missions.
* New and unique unit customization system for players to customize their characters -- change textures or create new ones, affix decals, even add faces. This is in addition to the 60,000 different combinations already in the game.
* Tactical game elements such as stamina, heartbeat, different hit zones, commander mode, stealth and precision meter
* First- and third-person perspectives
* Dynamic single player campaign featuring a complex diplomatic system and random missions

Its going to be sweet. Except for the thing I read that you cannot get 1 hit kills with sniper rifle, presumably even headshots. Maybe it was reffering only to body shots though.

I like the fact that you can't sit in a building and be invulnerable to tank rounds like in 1942. In CGW it said you can just drive through the building and collapse it on whoever is inside. Sweet!

*Dedicated Server support up to 32 players, up to 128 players on special servers of game providers
Linux machines can host 128 players! That's a lot of smacktards!

I have been wanting true deformable terrain and destructible environments for a long time. I'm sure I will get this one....
One by one, the penguins are stealing my sanity.

the thing that'll make and break it though is obviously the netcode...with deformable terrain and truely destructable objects it'll be extremely bandwidth heavy...especally with 128 players...imagine all those people throwing grenades...tanks shooting...etc...if they can pull it off it'll be an amazing game...

They will need rock solid netcode BEFORE the game is released and some powerful dedicated servers. I hate games that launch before they are ready for the net

Well, if this game pans out the way they are advertising, I will be first in line to buy it. Imagine if it was massively multiplayer, solid state...

Massivly multiplayer always = pay per month. This sucks also because there are never mods, other than "emulators" of it. However the step to 128 will be tough... you need some serious hardware to run that kind of server.
