scratched Acrylic
I've got this nice big box of odds and ends in the basement that has acrilic bits in it (some lexan, some plexi, some Lord knows what) and it's mostly scratched. Nothing horrible, but still not perfect looking.
Now, since FREE and old is better sometimes than SPENDING MONEY and new, I'm planning on using a bunch of this scrap on my minibox.
Anyone have a good way to get scratches out of plastic?
Also, as a tag along, anyone know how long to let enamel clear coat cure between coats?

How about adding some etching to the area with the scratch. It would cover it up and might add a nice touch to the MOD.
Anyone know how to remove small scratches from scratch free glasses. It seems that Lens Crafter would prefer you to buy another pair then to try and buff it out..

considering the price of a new sheet of acrylic vs the price of buffing compound+time to properly buff it, id say either cover it like good ole taztg says or get a new piece.

well, I'll live with it in some places then (they're just little things) and get new acrylic where absolutely necessary.

enamel will take a good while before it is fully hardened
my black paint (no clear on top of it) took a week before I couldnt put fingerprints in it

about 20 mins i think (i painted my entire case's inside)
about a week and it was hard but would leave fingerprints still if pressed hard for a bit
but to FULLY harden i think it took about a month to 5 weeks to fully cure.

take a blow torch and quickly move it back and forth across the scratch (don't let the blow torch sit around.. it will make bubbles)
that will help the scratches on most types of plexi a LOT.. makes it nice and glossy
on a side note, sorry for the late reply
