    New to building a computer, would this work?

    Was told this would work, but I wanted more opinions before spending the cash and trying to build the computer.

    Graphics Card: ATI Radeon 9800 Pro AGP 8X 128MBs DDR

    Memory: Corsair Value select 184 Pin 512MB DDR PC

    CPU: Intel P4 3GHz 800MHzFSB Socket 478 w/fan heatsink

    Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 7200 80GBs Ultra ATA/100 7200RPM

    Motherboard: Abit IS-10 i865G P4 800FSB skt478 DDR M-ATX Motherboard w/Audio, LAN, serial ATA Retail 400/533/800 FSB, ATA/100, AGP8X, 2DDRDIMM, 5PCI, USB 2.0, Audion, LAN, SATA

    Case: Antec Performance II Series SX1040BII Soho File Server Case (Black) Retail w/400w Power Supply

    CD-DVD: Samsung SM352 DVD16x + CD-RW 52x24x52 Combo Drive 8MB Buffer w/Nero and Power DVD software Retail

    Hows that look so far? Any suggestions? Looked around at some sites and got the price to $964.00
    Trying to keep the price no more than $1,000.00

    Looking Sweet to me.. I am not sure of the Chipset on the Mobo... Maybe you could post in the Mobo section to find out if thats the best chipset..

    Intel 865/875 chipsets are where the party is. The only thing I'd suggest is getting a 9800np and overclocking it. You'll end up with the same performance while saving a lot of cash. Same with that processor, go with a 2.8C, you'll never notice the difference and can OC the chip right back up to 3.0Ghz if you want.

    Make sure you're getting at least some pc3200 ram, you didn't have the speed listed up on your first post.

    I'm currently building a sys using the IS-10 motherboard.
    I don't think this board overclocks but it's pretty well loaded up otherwise. My first mATX rig, I'll keep you posted.
