HardDisk and Upgrade Question
I have the following 2 question:
1)My 20 GB harddrive is running quite slow (a Sandra test showed it to be running only a little faster than a UDMA 33, 5400 RPM). Now I'm not sure what it is actually capable of, but given that I bought it more than 2 years ago, does anyone know whether it is supposed to be that slow? Otherwise, what should I do to improve the harddrive performance?
2) I'm planning to sink about $500-$600 into this machine pretty soon. One thing that must change is the case, cause my current one has a faulty power switch. I was thinking of the Lian-Li PC68 USB, but that will cost about $205.
What other recommendations do you have to maximize the upgrade, given my budget?
(I was thinking along the lines of a 60 GB HD and getting 128 MB of PC-133)
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thx!

Staples is currently running a deal where you get a Maxtor Diamondmax Plus 60 eithier 30gb or 60gb (30GB=$119 60GB=$200) plus a 128MB stick of PC133 (Infineon 7.5 NS Cas 2 mind you). I printed out a $20 off $100 coupon and got it down to 107.5 after tax. I have heard of people getting the 60 for like 170 useing a 40 off 200 coupon. Eithier way sweet deal.

If you are planning on using that deal at Staples, and you wnat to spend a lot on a case, then the Lian-Li PC68 would be a great buy. Although this is true, if you want to save even more money, you can pick up any mid tower ATX case for around $50-$75. If you need a full tower, you can pick up a good one for about $100-$130. If you are set on getting a high quality case however, than i would go with the Lian-Li, I hear it is really good.

hmm...I just tried buying the 60 GB combo at their web site, turns out they're out of stock, with no option to back order.
Since the nearest Staples is about 30 miles from where I live, I think I'll have to pass for now...

Update:
Yeah, my harddrive turns out to be a UDMA 33 7200 RPM (I'm almost embarrased to admit this...). So the "problems" mentioned in the first post are quite normal...
Which gives me more reason to upgrade my harddrive
