It will leave scratch makrs on the case that will show through the paint.

It's much better to use sand papaer to metal, around 1000 grit. But you can use the 600 grit first to take off paint etc. faster.

Oh and your pics aren't working, if you help hosting them e-mail them to me & I'll host them for you .

Edit: If the pics don't work for anyone just copy and past.

Hehehe, that case is gonna die

AFAIK Home Depot/Lowes only carry up to 600g sandpaper. You'll find 1000-1500g sandpaper in any autostore though.

    Edit-
    Congrats on the Dremel!

Ah, well the Home Depot here in Denver only carries up to 600g. I asked if they had anything higher (Like in the 1000's) and I got laughed at... They told me I was looking for "specialty" sandpaper. They made it sound like the Holy Grail. Jerks.

i was also thinking of sending my side panel to get it laser cut
do you think thats worth it or do you think i can do something close to laser cut at home with a dremel a file and some sandpaper

a laser cut vs. do it yourself at home can look very different and very similar depending on how much time and dedication you put into the project. you can look around at other people's posts and see their custom cut jobs and some look like they were professionally done, and others you can tell were definitely done by hand. really it all boils down to how much time and money you want to spend. personally, i feel like i've accomplished so much more and done something so much cooler when i do it myself, but that is just me.
