Which is better...mx700 or mx900

Which is better gaming? My urge to get a wireless mouse has overtaken me. So whats the deal with these two? I know the 900 has blue tooth, but does it have higher resolution? Furthermore what exactly is blue tooth? I appreciate any of your comments

I believ they are exactly the same, except that one is wireless and the other is not.

They are both wireless, I think you may have confused the 900 with the 500

the mx 900 is better i believe. It uses bluetooth technology and can reach around 30 ft. the 700 is limited to about 6 ft, but that should be sufficient. The 700 is more than enough for gaming, and I believe it is a lot cheaper, so unless you're big on bluetooth, I'd vote for the 700.

The 900 is better... The range is much better on the 900.. Also less change of interference...

I am regretting my MX Duo purchase.. I should of sprung for the Bluetooth model.. I have to many systems in my office that I believe it is causing major interference...

hey colossus, you should check out comuplus.com for the bluetooth duo. I think the price is reasonable at $131. You can send me your duo set too, if you like

That is not a bad price at all.. When I got my MX DUO.. My vendor wasnt that far from that price...

But the standard MX DUO was much cheaper... I didnt think I would have a problem.. Since this is not my first wireless keyboard.. My older models (2 of them) work just fine.. Just the keyboard in this MX DUO set is very picky...

So the range is the only difference in the two? Well that and less chance of interference. So assuming no interference, the performance should be the same? Hmmmm do you guys think a wireless internet network will affect the wireless setup?

You being in the room interferes with wireless internet. The base on my MX700 is 2 feet from the mouse. I've never had problems

I just completed a small gaming network in my home built for sole purpose of fragging my wife as well as hapless other individuals online. Both of our systems are in the same room about 10 feet apart.
I selected the Logitech Elite Cordles Duo for both machines and have experienced absolute gaming goodness cord free! I'm happy to report no intereference of any kind. I paid 71.00 for each set at Newegg.

Having attempted gaming on other wireless networks and experiencing lag on every one of them I opted for a cable network. I Went down to
Office Depot and snagged a 20 foot crossover cable and configured a peer to peer network. Very Fast with NO lag

My keyboards aren't "picky" at all. They both work perfectly.

I Highly recommend the Logitech Cordless Duo!

(Both of Mine have the MX700 mouse)

I have an MX700 at work and love it, if you think you might be a distance from the base you should go with the 900, mine gets jumpy every once in a while and it is about 4 feet away. Great mouse though.

i own the logitech bluetooth mx combo keyboard/mx900. the mx900 is the better mouse, especially for distances greater than 5 feet. the mx700 will loose its signal quickly with distance. i use my mx900 to controll my HTPC from about 15 feet away, and there is no interference whatsoever... the mx900 doest suffer as much from the "wake-up" lag that the 700 does, although its not completely eliminated.

The new Logitech Wireless line looks great. I hope it's better that MSFT's attempt. I had their bluetooth based wireless setup for a while. It was horrible. It would lose connection all the time, you needed to reinstall the drivers(which required a hardwired mouse and keyboard), and it did not have ANY functionality outside of Windows.

umm, my MX 700 has no problem going over 15 feet away (aproximate) to my couch.

Well I just purchased the mx700 and I am still trying to make up my mind on it. Best buy didn't have the 900 by itself, so I had to get the 700. I had bestbuy gift certificates so I had to buy from there. I am coming from a razerboomslang, which I loved, but unfortunately was starting to cause problems. This 700 just doesn't feel as smooth as the razer did. Then again the razer had 2000 dpi and the mx700 has 800dpi I think. Then again, what other options do I really have if this is supposed to be the best out there?
