    Painting a monitor.....

    Painting a monitor.....
    Hi guys,

I wanted to say a big hello to all comp freaks in the house! I just bought a new pc and should be receiving it this week. Its something decent i think, a P4 3.0ghz 800fsb, corsair twinx 2x512 ddr400, asus p4p800 dlx, liteon combo cdrw/dvd, thermaltake 420w psu, antec case, creative T7700 speakers, ect. All in black.

I was thining of getting a new screen but since i already own a LG915FT Plus monitor (almost new), I wanted to know if i can paint
it black? would i need anything special for this(paint type or brand) and does it look good? do you suggest it or should i not even bother.

If anyone here already did this or knows someone who did, could you give me some feedback please.

    Best regards

First Off, I did it on an Old Gateway 17" Monitor. You said yours was new. Don't hold us responsible for breakage or damage.. LOL Now thats out of the way. Here's what I did.

All Monitors come apart differently. I took my Base off and then the Back Off. The Front Plastic stayed on with the monitor. It was in a light Alum. cage and all I did was take a trash bag and taped it over the Back part. I taped up the actual Monitor and put Vaseline on buttons. I then painter the Monitor. Put it back together and walla.

Turned out Pretty good did have a few glitches. I taped the trashback onto the lip where the front and back slide together. SOme of the lip was still beige, but I used a Sharpie and touched it up. Then some of the paint peeled on the buttons. Need a better Razer.

Good luck and if you do this POST PICS.. BTW nice RIG you built..

    Thanks Taz,

The rig is setting me back a few bucks but after my last pc blew itself to hell on me, i went for something better. I'll try this
out on this old 15inch monitor we got at work first. Just to see
how t turns out. i'll let you know how it turns out. I'll post pics of it soon. I should be getting the rig in a week or so.
