Abit serillel...can it be used on different motherboard?

I don't see why it wouldn't be able to be used on a different board since it is just a piece that connects the the hdd and not something that really connects the the motherboard. Does anyone know? Thanks!!

Oh, and to add to this, can that serillel, be connected to an adapter card? I think so, but don't want to bother if a specific component is needed on the mb.

You can use it on another board...

I have a set of ABIT Serials on a Gigabyte board IIRC..

Actually it doesnt give any boost I tested it..

But the boost for an Intel setup is running RAID through the ICH5R.. I had about a 25% increase in speed!

Thanks colossus, that was the answer I was looking for. I am not looking for a performance increase at all. My case has a side window, and as nerdy as it might be I am trying to pimp out my case... so cable management will be the issue here. I am using round cables at the moment, but if I could clear up the clutter by using the small serial ata connector/wires I think it will help if only a little. Thanks again!!
