    Espn Nfl 2k5

I don't know if there are any football fans on here, but ESPN NFL 2k5 is selling for $19 on EBGames.com if you preorder. From what I've heard, this game is going to be great and might be better than Madden. For the price I don't think you can loose.

Nah, it's going to be $19.99 for the XBOX as well. Also it's not just for pre-order, that's the official price tag.

This is the year i switch from Madden to ESPN football. I don't see why i should pay more than double for Madden 2005 when it's not even close to being twice as good. I've dealt with Madden BS for too long anyways. I still own the original for SNES =p. If madden 2k5 was 19.99, I'd probably go with Madden, but, since it's going to be $49.99, the decision is clear to me.

That's why you buy Xbox, PS2, and Gamecube Remember, the games make the system and not the other way around.

Good deal, in case you guys arent aware, the ESPN NFL series is the continuation of Sega Sports NFL 2k series, which is arguably the best football series ever made.

Judging from the clips I've seen of each game ESPN looks like the superior product. espnvideosgames.com has tons of clips. Look at the halftime show, it's like an episode of sportscenter... which is also in the game! They even have halftime and postgame interviews. These are the things I've wanted to see in Madden for a long time but they've just never bothered to do it cuz they've been on top and didn't have to. I tend to agree with this summary at IGN... http://xbox.ign.com/articles/522/522...html?fromint=1

And from what I've gathered, the awards for best sports game are distributed like this...

    ESPN- 3 awards
    Madden- 1 award
    NCAA- 1 award

Wonder if Madden will finally lose it's edge this year.

Great price, but I don't think Madden will lose out. People love the Madden games, an will buy it over 2k5. But this is a good start by Sega. They need to do this for all of there sports games.

I'm a die-hard football fan who was with the NFL series on the Saturn back in the day, and Madden on the Genesis before that, and I just have to say I'm getting really tired of spending $50 every year for a "new" game with an updated roster, 4 new animations, and some new commentary.

$20 is perfect, and it seems as though they've really gone all out this year to stuff the game with as many features as they could, as has Madden.

Unless Madden offers something I just can't live without, that extra $30 is hard to overlook.

I'll probably end up getting ESPN NFL 2K5 this year, and with the money I save, get NCAA Football 2005 from EA for my college craving.
So I guess in the end, everybody wins!

I'm the opposite. NCAA Football 2005 first then ESPN later. I actually hope ESPN starts to surpass Madden cuz then they may get into the NCAA market. With the way 2k5 is presented I'm sure they'd do an amazing job with a college game.

It's cool to be able to import your NCAA Draft Class into Madden, though...

Madden's not going to lose out; I'd bet a lot of people buy both games that wouldn't have touched ESPN before.

Only problem with that will be the fact that ESPN (mainly Corso and Herbstreit) would have to break their ties to EAs game in order to bring the same quality to a ESPN College game. Although it would be great to see a mock setup of the Gameday Studio during halftime...

Wha? I wasn't talking about an ESPN college game (it's been the second year in a row they've decided not to release one), just saying with the money I saved on my pro football game with ESPN, I'll probably buy EA's NCAA Football 2005 for my college football gaming as well.

Before, spending $100 on 2 football games every season was getting a little pricey. I'll do it for $70 though.

If there are people who have stayed dedicated to Madden and never touched the old NFL 2k series or the new ESPN NFL series, this could give them an opportunity for them to get into it without worrying much about not liking it because the price is so low. Personally, as I have already stated, I think the 2k/ESPN series is better than Madden.
