NCAA Football 2005 goes GOLD!!
Football fans everywhere REJOICE!
"NCAA Football 2005 golden
EA Sports has sent its college gridiron game to the factory; game's sales will kick off July 15.
With all the attention on ESPN NFL 2K5's budget-price challenge to Madden NFL 2005, many sports gamers have forgotten about the college football titles coming this year. The first of those, EA Sports' NCAA Football 2005, went gold today. The "E"-rated game is due on July 15 for the PlayStation 2, Xbox and GameCube, and will retail for $49.99.
Like previous installments in the series, NCAA Football 2005 will showcase the best and brightest teams of college football and have a dynasty mode to control each school's program. However, unlike previous NCAAs, the affect of each stadium's frenzied fans will have a direct affect on the game, including customized celebrations for big plays. The game will also feature a new "match-up stick" feature to exploit key personnel mismatches.
NCAA Football 2005 also has the distinction of being the first EA title to support Xbox Live. For more on the game, check out our latest preview.

This'll probably be the next game I pick up, and I intend to get it the day it ships.
I didn't play last year's version, mainly because I had NCAA 2003 and just got ESPN NFL, and couldn't justify another $50 on a football game.
I'm really pumped about this year's game though. Can't wait to get my hands on it.
Anybody else picking this one up on launch day?

I need to get a PS2...I'd love to get this when it came out, play a season through, and then import my draft class for Madden 2005...those generic players suck.

definately they need gang tackling, i HATED having 3 people jump at a guy at the same time, having 1 hit him, the other guys fall off, and he breaks the 1 guy and scores. such bs!

rofl. what they need to do is incorporate all of last year's madden into ncaa 2005. gang tackling/custom plays/packaged substitutions/play maker controls. i was watching the videos at EA website and they look like there is an improvement over 2004 besides just graphics.

Madden 2k4 is great...between Playmaker and the custom plays, there's more game there than I can ever get to. Hopefully 2k5 won't totally suck...

That happens in real football all the time!
I can't wait to get my copy, I too skipped NCAA 2004. So I can't wait for two years of improvement. (I also skipped because it was a down year for my school).

Apparently, don't ask me how, a number of reviewers have already gotten their hands on completed versions (GamePro and EGM at least), and both have posted great reviews, GamePro giving it perfect scores.
I'm very optimisitc from all that I've seen and read thus far.

I have NCAA 2002 and 2004. 2004 is, by far, a much better game. I'm sure 2005 will be even better. It seems like a total waste of money to shell out for these games every year, but the improvements are usually enough to do it if you wait 2 years
Main Rig: i7 920, EVGA X58, EVGA GTX 260 core 216, 3x2gb DDR 1600, Apple 30" Cinema Display, Lian-Li A20, Zalman 750w
Secondary Rig: Macbook Pro, Core2 2.4, 4gb

That's usually my take as well. Often times there just isn't enough new material to justify another $50. But after about two seasons, they usually get plenty of new content to make a purchase worth it.
