    Question Frustrating CDR prob

Using Nero, I get the following:

The Win-ASPI file'?.?' can't be found, there fore you can currently select only
only image recorders. Please check for correct Windows ASPI Manager
insatallation of your SCSI-Host Adapter Software.
    (Error:No ASPI!)

I have a yamaha IDE drive. Why does nero think i have a scsi drive?

I have tried adaptec easy cd creator, but rewritable disks are recognised as 'non-writable'

I did'nt use to have these problems and i don't think i've installed anything that could have caused this to happen.

    Any ideas?

Reinstall and or Update the drivers for your cdrw. If that doesn't work remove it and uninstall, then reinstall.

    Update your ASPI layer

    go to http://www.fireburner.com/downloads.shtml

    download aspi32.exe and aspichk.exe.

    That should do it.

This is due to the improper installation of Bus Master IDE driver, probably from VIA chipset.

In windows 2000, the default driver works great, but in Win9X, there is no cure but to reinstall the one that works best.
