    It's Alive!

So my cousin comes over and I'm showing him my latest projects. I did all of that testing (cardboard/swap components/etc)to the Epox 8RDA3+ to no avail. He sees it and asks what I'm doing to that one. I tell him the story how I screwed it up with a magnetic screwdriver and hit the switch to show him the proof that it is dead........

....and the damned, possessed, piece of ______ starts right up!

I don't know. I did nothing to it. Maybe it just needed some 'ME' time for a couple of days. Anyways, it's back and the F@H rig is almost done. Got some polishing to do on the (sweet) paint and some minor wire hiding.

I have my primary rig on water cooling now. The build is very 'Un-GLScoob' with all of the exposed wires and very little stealthing. Most of it is the hardware intended for the Redemption rig, but that is taking so long, half the stuff is outdated before the case is completed. So I decided to put it to use in a surrogate cased I picked up at Fry's for 50 bucks.

I'll post some pics if you want, but I'd rather not....(embarassing)

LOL, sometimes turning it off for a few days is the trick. Go Figure.
Like taking a car to the garage for a weird noise. You and all your friends hear it but at the garage its not there all nice and quiet. I swear its making a weird noise. Sure They say Sure..

lol, at least its working again.

Out of curiosity, what did you do wrong with the magnetic screwdriver? Cuz i've been using one of those lately and wondering if its safe.

I've always 'heard' that you shouldn't work on computers with magnetic tipped screwdrivers. They can discharge or ruin parts with the magnetic field. I even keep a tip demagnetizer in my computer maintenance 'kit' for just this purpose.

So I'm putting my rig back together after finally installing the watercooling. My screwdriver was at the other end of the house in the den. I lazily grabbed my Matco magnetic tipped screwdriver and put the mobo in the case. Everything else was the same. I tried to start it up, and no response. Tested the PSU, switch, all connections, removed the whole setup and tested on cardboard last Sunday, all with no luck. The damned thing is dead.

    Until last night....

....whatever. The only problem is now, I have no idea what made it stop working AND what made it start working again. So I'm just gonna go ahead and get on with my life and leave this one for the next Ripley's episode.......

Sweet deal, dude. I thought I had destroyed my NF7-S with a magnetic screwdriver and your story gave me the confidence needed to test it out again... But... Yeah, still gone.
