Well my new laptop parts should be here around next Monday

    Finally! Here's what I'm getting:

    1.7GHz Dothan
    15" SXGA+ screen
    855 chipset Centrino mobo
    Intel wireless card
    1GB (2x512MB) of the XMS Cl2.0 PC2700
    60GB 7,200 RPM HDD
    CD-RW/DVD combo drive
    64MB 9700

    For accessories I'm getting:

    an extra battery
    Auto/Air adapter
travel optical mouse with retractible cord
    very nice leather carrying case

Someone try to guess the price on all this and then I'll give you the real one.

$1850 (I paid a lot for that RAM), without the tax or shipping...with tax it'll be about $1968. I don't know how much shipping will be though. I'll assume high and say enough to make it about $2000 even or around there. Not bad concidering powernotebooks (lowest possible prices I could find) has the same thing for about $2400.

Got the parts from Synnex through my friend. The extra battery is just an extra battery I think. I believe there's an option to replace the optical drive with out, but as I saw no reason why I'd really ever do that when switching the battery takes only a few seconds and provides the same results without the loss of the optical drive, I didn't get that one.

Edit: Well I'm actually getting that RAM from powernotebooks as they were the only people selling it, Corsair doesn't even list 512MB modules of it on their website...but everything else is coming from Synnex.

Big news! I might be able to get a PCI-E laptop with a user upgradable X600! It hasn't been released to the public yet but I met a guy who might be able to hook me up It'd be so awesome! He said it has 256MB of RAM on it! It'll be like 9800 Pro level too! And it won't cost much more if anything! Woot! I also might be able to get a UXGA screen This will be totally awesome though!
