    Should I get NB cooling?

    Right now, I am using just the stock HS on my mobo to cool my Northbridge chip. (Asus A7N8X-X)

    My system IS overclocked (specs in sig) and was just wondering... would a fan on my NB be better? Would it help me overclock at all? Or is it even necessary to cool the NB? ... hmm

    can anyone help me here?

    I wouldn't worry about it, its not essential on nforce 2 boards.

    and if you're stable now, why change anything?

    i'd only think about it if you're going for uber-fsb speed and/or are using more than 1.7-1.8v.

    I'm using 1.85v right now... and DO want uber FSB...

    sorry, misunderstood overclocking part. But i mean vdd, not the 1.85v as you listed for vcore.

    Mostly, the need to upgrade cooling depends on how much voltage you're shoving through the northbridge and how hot it is already. As for helping the oc, it's hard to say. Some say they're not worth it, others do. It wouldn't hurt to get a better cooler, and they're not that expensive.
