    seems to be back up now...it looks decent...the character models and skins look awesome...but it seems like it took a step backwards in terms of world textures...reguardless it should be a good game

    It's just a preview. They can scale the textures up to whatever hardware their target is. They're also using an updated Doom 3 engine.

    scaling up the textures would make them more blurry of course I'm just juding from scanned magazine pictures of a game that still has quite a ways to go...


    another thing about it they mentioned multiplayer will be sorta like quake 3...can't wait for that

    Same engine, but updated. Carmack said he was working on all kinds of tweaks to make the textures seem more differential such as better skin mapping and specular. I don't think these were implemented yet.

    Hope they bring back the lightning gun...that was always fun . I try and play Quake 1 here from time to time, hard to find people though. It's truly a great, great online game, and still beats out pretty much any other modern day FPS, IMO. Wish people would start playing Q1 again

    Dammit, that reminds me... I HOPE they don't leave the railgun out (basically the same as the lightning gun but I always thought the railgun one was cooler). I managed to shoot people in mid-air while taking a long jump etc... ahh, good times.
