    Peltier setup, -14C, wahoo!

the temps are looking pretty good so far, i can't wait to get this thing ready for some serious benching action.

    here's the pelt/block:

here's the rest of the stuff:

coating the back side of the mobo:

CPU socket filled with dielectric grease:

    CPU installed:

The cold plate getting nice and frosty :

    Up and running:

I must say i'm a little surprised and quite happy with the results so far. I had heard some talk that peltiers were not enough to handle A64's, but -14C is pretty good i think. Anyway, i'm also impressed by the little Aspire 500w "Concord" power supply i have running this thing. It does a very nice job for being only $55.

Nice temps! I'm not too surprised at the result. A lot of "experienced" guys pooh-pooh pelts because their crappy loop couldn't handle the load, not the pelt. You've got a pretty strong performing water loop, so your pelt is going to do pretty good.

i was actually surprised by the amount of people here who had self-built rigs (a lot of A64 3000/ 9800pro combos). I live in the engineering dorm, which kind of sucks in a way, but we had a pretty big LAN party in the study lounge the other week and there were at least 20 people who showed up with home made PC's.

Hey, it is engineering, so I'd guess people know what they're doing. Hooray for engineers!

Nice setup Esh, welcome to the TEC world :0

Your temps are better than mine, I get about -7c idle on my P4.

    Same block though, basically.
