    Post Sidewinder GamePad

So I was really bored and went to play some Need For Speed High Stakes on my roommates computer. He is running Win98SE with a Turtle Beach Montego II Sound Card and a Microsoft Sidewinder II GamePad...the damn GamePad doesn't always work though, the gaming controller thing in the controll panel usually says it isn't connected..even though it is. Any suggestions?

I just went by Sidewinder's download site and got what I could find, driver 3.02. And it still doesn't work. I've given up on this piece of garbage. Who am I to think a Microsoft product could work with a Microsoft OS?

A little off topic, but does anyone know where I can buy a first gen. Sidewinder gamepad? I have one and I LOVE IT! and I want another one. Also, does anyone know if I can just hook up a converter to convert the joystick/midi connection to USB will work with any joystick?

Nah, there are no conflicts. The gamepad decides when it wants to play. And I'm not talking about the "mode" button, I have that on!

I also wish I could convert it to USB. It's a great controller, when it works
