Can you read CDs with the drive at all? It could just be broken- those lasers can die.

Do you get any errors while burning it? I use Nero 5.xx and adaptec easy cd creator 4. My old HP 7500 series still burns great, only if I don't use the "copy an existing cd" function of Nero or Adap. (I get a underrun buffer error). Try adding the files/folders you want to burn manually, then burning it. That always works for me. Or copy to the harddrive into a temp folder then burning it from the harddrive.

Also try burning something else, like a music cd, it could be the source cd. BTW what are you coping, that could be the problem too.
