Ok here is my question and problem….
Ok here is my question and problem….
I need a good set of headphones because I am unable to use speakers…
The crappy head phones I have now make a hissing sound when plugged into the back of my computer...
My question is the hissing sound coming from the motherboard or from the cheap pair of 20$ headphones?
Any help... Would Be awesome.

I wouldn't waste money on a soundcard purely for $20 headphones...

The hiss is because of the poorly designed motherboard sound ouput matched with the likely high sensativity and low impedance of your cheap headphones. A solid soundcard will help, yes, but it likely won't solve your problem entirely. Better headphones should help also, but if you get low impedance headphones, they'll hiss. For instance, the shure E5c's will hiss on nearly anything you run it from, due to their low impedance and high sensativity.
The solution? New soundcard, amp and headphones! Or, just a new soundcard....then new headphones....then an amp.....baby steps!

Try the headphones on another source like a cd player and see if you still get the hissing. (then you'll know if it's your mobo or headphones)

Ill gives it a shot I was thinking this and this...
Turtle Beach 6-Channel PCI Sound Card, Model "Santa Cruz"
SENNHEISER HD212 PRO Stereo Headphone
The reason I can’t use speakers is they bug the people around me I’m in close quarters to other people and I’m a night owl, they are day people.

Either that card, or the chaintech, which ever is cheaper, shouldnt matter much with the headphones...
Great stuff for a low price though.
