Is there a decent sub $1100 notebook?

Just curious if there is a decent laptop out there no more than $1100 that will play games such as WoW and Nascar SimRacing??

    Not likely. Go to www.notebookreviews.com

    A lot of answers there.

Also look at www.Ibuypower.com Buy at your own risk they have great deals on computers but I have heard not so good things about their customer service.

Call me weird but I prefer to buy a laptop at best buy. It is the only item in the store that needs the extended warranty!! They always break and it is nice to have that piece of mind!

Sadly, you just missed out on a huge Dell deal, which included a $600 off of $1699 coupon.

    If you buy used, yes.

    If you buy new, no.

When and where can you find these kind of deals. Go to dell site everyday? OR could someone post it in this forum every time they have a good deal like that because I sure would want one of those discounts.

My inspiron 8600 with a ati mobility 9600pro plays WoW decently. Sometimes it's wailing on the hard drive which I attribute to only have 768MB of RAM. It was more than $1100 though, but not much...
    Laptop: Inspiron 8600 | Pentium M - 1.5GHz | 1.5GB RAM | 80GB 7200RPM | ATI Mobility 9600 Pro | Runs WoW OK
    Gaming: ASUS P5B Deluxe | E6600 | NSK6500 | 2GB RAM | EVGA 7900GTO | 2xWD 5000KS | NEC 3550A | Dell 2405 | Runs WoW Great!
    Garage1: IBM PC 5150 | 4.77MHz 8088 | 640KB RAM | 2x160KB Floppy | 10MB HD | 320x200x4 color | Runs Bards Tale Great!
    Garage2: Apple II+ | 1.0MHz 6502 | 48KB RAM | 2x140KB Floppies | 40x48x16 color | Runs Wizardry Great!

He didn't miss it, it's still going.

    Link Here

You can get an inspiron 8600 with Mobility 9600pro 256MB (buy another 512MB from Newegg or elsewhere) including port replicator and stand for $1126 after $600 discount. Remove the replicator & stand and add some memory or 7200rpm drive if you like.

Not awesome at WoW but definitely very playable.

    I like my behemoth.

However, if you travel at all or really need something other than a desktop replacement that is transportable, I agree the 600m is the way to go.

    I don't see a 600m with a 9600 mobility, only a 9000 mobility. Does that really run WoW ok?

If gaming on your laptop is super important, then you can get a nVidia Go 6800 in a dell 9300. Could probably get that under $1100 with current deals.

    Hahaha

I ***PROMISE*** you, you will not be able to get the 9300 for anywhere close to $1100 anytime soon.

The laptop isn't even out yet.
