Advice - Laptop Rolling Case

Hi Folks.

I am buying a new notebook w/ a 17 inch screen. I do alot of air travel and I'm looking for a good bag for short trips (2-3 days). I would like to find a rolling bag that can safely store my laptop and related gear as well as 2 days worth of business attire. It also must meet all airline carry-on requirements. Does anyone have any recommendations or is this a pipe dream?

When I traveled a million plus miles per year, I used a regular rolling case designed for airline use that had divided compartments. I kept my notebook computer with all it's accessories in a briefcase with other business papers. In turn the briefcase fit into one of the zippered compartments for those times I did not want to carry both briefcase and bag separately. For domestic travel I carried a small hanging bag (2 extra suits, shirts and accessories) plus a briefcase. Keep in mind that you must have your computer readily available for inspection when traveling via commercial carrier. Don't pack it away too far out of reach. This is also true if you want to use your computer while traveling.

I currently carry a standard roller bag for clothes, etc, and use a Targus Computer Backpack for my laptop. It is nice to be able to wear the backpack for long hikes through the airport. Does it look geeky? Damn right. Do I ache from carrying a 20lb briefcase through every airport around? Not any more.

I also like having my laptop in a reasonable size bag, because I can stuff it under the seat in front of me and pull it out to watch movies.

Another thought. Camera stores have awesome selections of bags. So off to B+H Photo I went.
