    Best lappy for under 1200?

    AMD Athlon 64 ™ 3200+ Processor
15.4" WXGA Widescreen TFT (1280 x 800) display with BrightView
    128MB ATI Radeon ® XPress 200M
    wifi b/g // bluetooth // NIC // Modem
    6-in-1 reader
    WinXP Pro
    512MB of ram
    80GB HD (5400RPM)
    8x DVD+/-RW and CD-RW Combo Drive
    Is this good for $1150?

Anybody know of a better AND cheaper, or at same price, rig?

I'm only aiming for Pentium M or Ahtlon 64.

    Any info is appreciated!!

    Office Depot...
Yes, it's a very good deal... if you just get vanilla, after rebates, it's $500 (+tax & shipping).

It's from Costco. I heard Office Depot has a better deal, but because of rebates and instant discounts, which are mostly rebates.
    With costco
    1050-laptop (a $750 instant discount)
    50-mail in rebate
    999.99-subtotal (+tax)

I'd consider the Office Depot, but that would require going directly to the store. Thats time, transportation, and more tax (because much gets taxed before the mail in rebate. The difference would only be $50. I'll suffer the tax and do it all form home instead!
Besides, Costco has a 6 month return policy (incase anything happens).

Yes, it's in-store only... but I still think it's better than many other sales... including Dell... I'm not very fond of Dell lappies... My brother was burned pretty badly by them... over-priced... My Compaq is awesome (!gasp!) for a lappie!!

Over-priced is pretty universal... The cost of 1000 from costco would cost 1550 directly from HP... Just gotta know where to shop.
