large, value hd
i havent been much into comuter prices / discussuion lateely and i dont really know whats going on.
im in college now and my 27 gig quantum is aging and constantly filled to the brim. i'm quite strapped for cash and i want the best VALUE hard disk with these features:
- 80 gig+
- ata100, 7200 rpm
- reliable
i hear the ibm gxp100's are coming out, are they somewhat reasonably priced? i also know the seagate, maxtor, and maybe wester digital are decent too. i dont want to spend too much over $150 if thats possible. i only want a single drive and i'm not going ot be using raid or anything like that.

80gb, ata/100, 7200rpm...they don't belong in the same sentence with "value"..hehehe
I haven't had any personal experience with any, so I can't help you.. I'm interested in the replies, though - I'd like to get a single drive to replace my 10.2 and 30gb..

you can pick up a 60 gig 7200 rpm drive for 120 bucks on newegg, i'd say that's a good price.
