    Finally made an HTPC but...

Finally put together an HTPC system...but have nothing to go along with it. My ole Sharp TV has a big discolored spot on the left side and is dying...

So...Over the next couple of months I'd like to get a new TV. I'm a poor college student so I can't spend too much at one time, nor do I have the space for a huge TV, but I'd like to get a medium sized HDTV under $1000 (lower is better of course). If someone convinces me to go the projector route I wouldn't mind trying that either. Primarily I'll be gaming and watching movies on the TV, so I'm not sure whether to get a 16:9 or 4:3 ratio TV.

I was wondering where's the best place (website/forums) to research up on whats out there/where to buy as I'm completely new to this.

    Recommendations would be awesome too

    Dude-

My buddy's HTPC, with his DLP projector, and like 10 foot screen is simply amzing. Its called either "future wall" or "pornjector" - depending on well, if we are watching porn. But it is awsome, I highly reccomend you look into it.

    Jakedeez out.

Theres some solid PJ's for under $1k

inFocus x1 (the original is the best w/ the Faroujda video processor)

and there are a few others. A projector will give you one helluva nice big pic, although if you plan on using it a lot, be prepared to throw down lots of extra $$$$ for bulbs.
