    Could someome direct me to..

    I'm looking for a surround sound setup for $700-$800. I know this isn't the right place to be asking about non-pc related audio, but I recall some members having experience with higher end speaker setups.

    Can anyone direct me somewhere I could look into what I want? Already tried the audio links sticky, lots of broken links.

    avsforums would be the place to go if you want to learn about high end speaker setups. I would go into detail, but the thread would get locked. Good Luck and feel free to pm me for more info.

    AVSForum does have lots of smart people - but they have to be the least helpful forum on the planet. If you get an answer it'll be a good one, but the question is will you get an answer.

    I've asked many questions that get 0 or 1 responses and they just don't seem to want to help anybody thats new to the forums - I can't understand it.

    AVSforums helped me choose just fine, 20 responses in two days. They turned me on to Ascend Acoustics, and also their B-stock line for cheaper, which is where I'm getting my new bookshelves from.
    Audio Setups:
    E-MU 0404 ---toslink---> Panasonic SA-XR55s ---> Ascend Acoustics CBM170's with Dayton 12"
    E-MU 0404 ---analog---> Little Dot II tube amp ---> Beyerdynamics DT880 or Sennheiser HD280 pros.
    Technics SL-1200 MKII ---> TCC TC-750LC Phono Preamp ---> Panasonic SA-XR55s ---> Ascend Acoustics CBM170's with Dayton 12"

    Any updates on what people have been suggesting? I'm kind of curious to what they recommended on that budget.
