Upgrading Laptop CPUs

I have an Omnibook 4150 laptop, and its a p2 300, since the Omnibook 4150 series goes all the way to 650 p3, would I be able to just buy a mobile 600 p3 ($80 on pricewatch), maybe change some jumpers and be on my way? Did they change the socket from mobile p2's to mobile p3's at all?

If I were to try it, and it is not compatable what would be the chances of frying something?

It might be worth a try...

I think you would have to contact OMNiview and ask them. You also can ask in the cpu forum, they might know, but it all realy depends on your laptops motehrboard.
