Need help Customizing Keyboard for HTML applications

    Hi,

We are using applications based on JAVA/HTML platform. Many of our data entry opperators are having a miserable time using the NUM PAD because they cannot use the ENTER key as TAB.

They have hefty data to enter daily [bank operations] which they could easily manage in their old FoxPro system. The new HTML based application only allows TAB for switching between fields and ENTER to submit forms/requests.

In order to switch between fields in the new HTML apps. they have let go of one hand for the use of TAB which takes thrice the amount of time [they use one hand [Left hand] to handle a physical ruler placed on each entry on the register and use the other [right hand] to enter data through the NUM PAD.

I would appreciate if you could suggest a solid work around to this problem, maybe a third party softer that allows to customise the keyboard on WinXP etc.. Would highly appreciate an urgent response

What you're looking for is called "keyboard mapping" but I unfortunately don't have any experience with this, and I'm sure you can Google the term as easily as I can.

It's really old, but should still be usable; try: http://www.microsoft.com/windows95/d...oy/default.asp ... there's a Keyboard Remap utility

Alternatively, if there is a budget for such, you could get specialist keyboards which ship with their own button programming software.
