Alma scares the crap out of me.
Am I the only one who thinks Alma from F.E.A.R. is scarier than the girl from The Ring?

Hammerhead Shark
I havent played the game yet but I watched a few videos. There is one scene when you are walking towards the ladder and nothing is there and when you turn around to go down it, she suddenly appears. Its creepy but not scary.
There is another scene however that made me **** my pants. It was a long 20min gameplay footage and it has you look into some window that is pitch black and all of the sudden the lights flash and she is screaming and running towards you. After I picked myself off the floor, I stopped the gameplay and went to church.

She creeped me out in the begining for a while but in the middle i kind of knew it was gonna happen, and was kind of prepared for whats to come. In the end of the game she is frigging scary. The whole time i played the game i was on edge especially in office where she would come and you **** yourself but then like you get so envolved with killing everybody and you kind forget alma and then boom she creeps you out.
Great game.

Wow, not to sounds like Captain ToughNuts, because DOOM 3 freaked me out a few times, but Alma and FEAR do not scare me at all.
That's not to say I haven't been creeped out, and having her suddenly appear in a door way and the lights flicker while she giggles can be creepy, but not once have I really been "freaked out" at ALL by this game. I bought the game with the hope it would be a real horror/thriller, but aside from a few unnerving parts and general atmosphere of creepiness, it just hasn't been able to frighten me at all yet.
As far as Alma goes, this was brought up before, but I wonder if I've seen just waaaay too many little girls in horror games and movies to the point where they just don't bother me anymore, the same way rotting zombies, no matter how disgusting, have lost their scare factor for the most part.

Little kids don't scare me. even if they do have psychic powers that can make people explode... Although, those twins in the shining startled me when I was younger.

This game isn't scary to me at all. Doom freaked me out and gave me goosebumps until I got used to it, but this game has only managed to startle me a couple times.
Currently Playing: DOTA 2, XCOM Enemy Unknown

F.E.A.R. offers a different type of scariness than DOOM 3. DOOM 3 was more of a cheap, very predictable scare that is scary in the sense that the monsters can jump out of nowhere and kill you. In F.E.A.R., you're never scared of your character dying. It's more of a paranormal factor that still runs in your head after you've stopped playing. My house at night seems so much freakier right after playing F.E.A.R.

I agree, Doom 3 didnot do anything for me, but Fear makes me feel uncomfortable when playing, especially at night when i use my headset instead of my speakers.

I'm waiting to upgrade to Play FEAR but it's definetly a spooky game. I thought, and I only played the first ten minutes or so, that there were to many cutscenes. I got a feeling that guy (you) is one of those trained zombie soldiers.

He's not. He's their dad.

I'll be honest that when I game, I don't get into the plot of the story that much. With that said, I just knew I was supposed to kill the bad guys. Obviously the main character (the player) has some link to Alma and the other main bad guy, but that's where it ends for me. Anyone care to shed some light on how they are all somewhat related? I do know Alma is scared of the main character (the player).
