That's exactly what I was thinking. I saw a Law and Order SVU where they busted a porn webmaster for making girls look younger and advertising it as child porn. I wouldn't be suprised at all if this turned into some kind of law suit.

Ahh I see. I couldn't hear much of the story too well. I had an old soundcard that kept giving out lol. I recently picked up a new one, but I missed some of the middle story.

Did you notice the demo for that appeared on the Fileplanet front page 3 days ago? The caption reads: "Take this opportunity to play the demo for everyone's favorite game of all time: System Shock 2. This game is guaranteed to scare you senseless."

Reading that made me so happy that I reinstalled the game and started to play through again. I'm currently ~6 hours into the main campaign and 2 hours into the Ponterbee Station mod (excellent mod so far)

Feel like giving it the ol' reinstall and hitting up some Ponterbee co-op with Crion's Impossible Multiplayer?

While DOOM 3 is scary in the sense that you KNOW something is going to jump out at you and ends up overusing that idea, FEAR does the opposite. It creates this creepy atmosphere and riddles it with the occasional "boo" moment, but after you realize that nothing is happening and she's not going to attack you and its just a "vision" more or less, it loses its scare factor. Yeah, turning a corner and seeing Alma can make you tense up, but after about the 4th time that happens and the ONLY threat you ever really face is the soldiers, I lost that creepy feeling.
A BIG part of being scared in a game, IMO, is feeling that your character can be killed/attacked by something you don't expect. And while FEAR has a plethora of "elite soldier clone guys", they just aren't scary. And the "creey/paranormal" atmosphere is ruined by pretty much knowing that only these clone guys are going to attack you.

Granted, I have not finished the game yet, but I'm on Interval 09, and after hearing Interval 08 was supposed to be really scary, I'm quite disappointed. I hope the game has saved up some real scares for the last two intervals, because so far, walking down narrow corridors and having clones pop up and shoot at me has NOT been scary.

Still a great game though. Gonna go play some more now...

According to ttlg.com, you can still buy copies from http://www.gameswarehouse.com.au/lon...sp?gameid=2950 for cheap, but its an australian site so I dont know how bad shipping would be. Otherwise, just eBay it.

Yeah, but I remember people at ttlg saying that it was falsely labeled as abandonware, and the release at TUG isn't legal.
