    After 6 years, my new system is finally comming!

    Opteron 165 CCBWE (hoping for 2.6-2.8+ghz)
    XP-90c w/ 56cfm 92mm fan and AS5
    1x120mm fan + 1/2x80mm 15cfm fan(s)
    ASUS A8R-MVP CrossFire 200 mobo
    ASUS X1800XL retail
    G.Skill 2x1gb 2-3-2-5 PC3200 DDR
    MaxLine III 300GB HDD
    NEC combo DVD-R drive
    Antec 640B case
    SeaSonic S12 500w PSU
    TerraTec 24/96 Audio

    This system will replace:
    PIII 800mhz
    DEE815A mobo
    Radeon 64mb (the original)
    512mb PC133 SDRAM
    120gb HDD
    TerraTec 24/96

    I expect a 6-24x improvement in applications and games. I should be happy. What do you guys think?

    EDIT: All totalled up, I think this system ran me about $1460. More if/when I replace my POS keyboard and maybe my mouse.

    Dang hell of an upgrade you should probably steal your grandma's oxygen tank so you don't pass out. I noticed a sizeable upgrade difference from a T-Bred @ 2.2 and a 6800GT AGP to a 3700+ San Diego and a 7800gt PCI-E.

    Gaming/Work Computer: << AMD 3700+ :: DFI NF4 Ultra-D :: 2GB (2x1GB) G. Skill :: Evga 7800GT :: 36GB Raptor :: 485w Enermax >>
    File/Print Server: << AMD 1600+ :: ABit Mobo :: 1GB (2x512MB) :: 1 x 60GB IBM : 4 x 120GB Maxtor :: 3 x 250GB Maxtor :: 2 x 300GB Maxtor :: 400w Antec :: Total Storage: 1.89 TB >>

    My granda doesn't use an O2 tank. She drives a WRX.

    You're right though, I might need one. About the best system I've really gotten to use is a 1.8ghz Newcastle with a basic 6600 and some overclocking... At the time, it was unbelieveably fast. I think this system should kill it though.

    Some reason the thought of your granny driving a WRX scares me quite a bit...

    Congrats Darkwolf. Looks like a great system. I'm in the same boat as you. At the end of February I'm going to finally replace my P3 1ghz, 512mb Ram, Ti4400 system.

    Hey? I was going to make a Tbird joke

    This was my joke.

    Hey! don't laugh, there are ppl (Tbird) who would kill for that system he's throwing out.

    Hey thanks for the props guys. I might turn my computer over to my five year old brother.. Once I get all the smut off it....

    Newegg finally exepted my card this morning.. I think I went over my daily spending limit or something. I might have most of my parts in tomorrow, but I definately won't have the RAM, PSU or DVD drive before X-mas. Kind of a bummer, I'll get two days off in a row for the first time in like two months. Maybe I can get next sat off and have a killer LAN party.
