Post Soyo Dragon+ and Corrupted File errors

Ever since I put my Soyo Dragon+ mobo in I've been getting corrupted file errors. Like I tried to install Half-Life and got an error and then tried again and it worked. And I installed 3DMark 2001 and during the benchmarking it closed and gave a corrupted file error. It happens sometimes and not others.. so obviously there aren't any real corrupted files. I don't know what is going on! I have not updated the BIOS on my mobo.. could that be it?

It's always some strange new problem isn't it?

Very well could be the mobo, you may need to rma it. You could have got unlucky. I work iin a shop and we got a batch a bad mobo's that did that, blue screened and dropped the regisrty constantly. Boy is it fun to have 15+ angry customers pissed off at you while your switching out their mobo. You can always try the bios update but I doubt it will fix it. Before you send it back though, is the cpu and or memory and or hard drive new as well? Narrow down the problem.

The same thing happened with my Soyo Dragon+. I would get a message that said I/O error corrupted file... blah, blah, blah. It ended up being the new stick of ram I put in. When I first got my system, it came with 2x256mb Samsung DDR2100 ram. The day it arrived I added a stick of 256mb Crucial DDR2100 (the one Best buy had the sale on) and all i got were these stupid errors every time i tried to install anything (and 3DMark did the same thing to me also) . After trial and error I found out it was the Crucial ram that was causing the errors. I've been trying to exchange the Crucial ram at Best Buy to see if it was a bad stick but all the Best Buys near me are out of Crucial DDR ram and say they won't carry the Crucial DDR anymore!! There is one store about 90 miles away from me that has a stick of the Crucial. I'm going there this weeked exchange it to see if the stick I have is just plain bad or if Crucial+Soyo=Stupid errors!! My advice is to try another stick of ram or if you have 2 sticks in your computer already, try one at a time (thats what I did)

Mine works fine so check your other parts.

Also MAKE SURE you have the newest BIOS installed.

I think a RAM problem is most likely. I did just put new RAM in there and the ram is cheap NEC 3X256MB PC2100 DDR.. and since that is what was wrong with the Docs comp.. that is probably what is wrong with mine. Also.. I got the RAM the same day I got the new mobo and put it in.. so I never tried it before this.
