if you dont mine used you would probabbly have a better selection. Otherwise I would just check dell/compaq/hp for periodic deals

okay i was looking at some compaq laptops and i found this one
Link
is it a good price for $550?
I was going to upgrade:
$45.... Sempron to AMD Turion(TM) 64 ML-32 (1.8GHz/512KB L2 Cache)
(is this cpu upgrade even worth it?)
$50 for DVD/CD-R combo
so that gets up to $640
is it worth it to go for 5400 rpm harddrive? for $50 more? And how much battery life do you get with turions vs the pentium-ms

how much worse is the battery life of the turion 64 vs a celeron M?
and how much performance difference between an M370 Celeron vs a Turion64 ML-32 (1.8ghz 512kb)
also are there ANY cheep celeron Ms with ATI x200 express? or do they only come wtih Intel Media 900? seems like only the AMD ones come with the x200s for under $600...

Turion's get alot better battery life than Celeron M... the Celeron M lacks the Pentium-M's SpeedStep and therefore runs 100% vcore all the time... a Turion MT can get nearly the same battery life as a Pentium-M and a Turion ML gets respectable battery life
i dont know about the performance difference between Celeron Ms and the Turions

Also, be sure to get the Turion MT. It's only like $5 more, and it has much better battery saving techniques, similar to Celery M vs P-M.
